Cast Bios:

Lucas Brahme is an actor, musician, writer, chef, brother, boyfriend, son, clown, and millennial in no particular order. Originally from San Diego, he somehow found his way into a Master’s program at California Institute of the Arts and now spends his time making jello moulds for his head and writing adaptations of ‘Of Mice & Men’. Joe Zhang is a Chinese actor, currently living in Los Angeles trying not to starve. His most recent work includes the master thesis film His Pain Relief and music video The End of the World. Joe also played Boxer in the Calarts radio drama production of George Orwell's Animal Farm. Joe received his B.A. in Television Photography from the Communication University of China. In 2019, Joe decided to come to the US to pursue an acting career. Joe is now an MFA3 Actor at California Institute of the Arts. Apart from acting, Joe loves sunlight, animals and single-malt. 

Adam Peltier is an MFA3 Actor who’s doing this show...BUT...shocker....he does other stuff too. Go up and ask him about it. He loves talking about himself.

Avalon Greenberg Call is an actor currently receiving her BFA in Acting and digital arts at California Institute of the Arts. Avalon has been on the stage and in front of a camera since childhood. Some of her previous roles include Ruth in Light Falling down at Oceanside Brooks Theatre, Whitney in a Piece of my heart, and Juliet in Romeo in Juliet at CalArts. She has trained with the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and notable theatrical pressences in LA such as Daniel Passer and Lars Jan. Avalon has also worked with performance mediums of VR.

C. Bain is a gender liminal interdisciplinary artist. His work has been shown at the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival, the New Masculinities Festival, Dixon Place, The Tank, and elsewhere. He is a member of the Actors Center, and has performed with My Barbarian, Page 73, Flux Theater Ensemble, and others. His poetry book, Debridement, was a finalist for the Publishing Triangle Awards. He is a Lambda Literary fellow. I guess he’s also in art school.

Oz du Soleil is a Microsoft Excel MVP and YouTube personality at the channel: Excel on Fire. His Excel videos are known for being bold, brash, and dramatic, and his passion for clean data and effective use of Excel are always present. Oz co-authored Guerrilla Data Analysis 2nd Edition with Mr. Excel, Bill Jelen. He's a course author at LinkedIn Learning. Oz lives in Portland, OR; is a veteran of the US Navy, and is in a documentary about sriracha hot sauce, Sriracha: a Documentary by Griffin Hammond.

Creative Team Bios:

Amy Chiao is a multi-media artist, performer, designer, and director working in site-specific performance installation, video performance, collage, material design, and virtual streaming platform experiences. Based in Los Angeles, Chiao comes from a family of Cantonese musicians and composers, Opera singers, and mannequin manufacturers. She holds a BFA in Textiles from Rhode Island School of Design 2014 and is currently an MFA candidate at CalArts for Scene Design with a concentration in Integrated Media. Chiao’s current research and bodies of work explore the art of sales persuasion through conducting consumer insights, creation of business marketing characters, and absurdist lifestyle design products. She wants to thank the entire Post~CORP(or)*%aTE cast and crew production team and her Calarts mentors on their immense talents, dedication, generosity, and support for bringing SoyciaLyfe to life.

Natalie Ferguson is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes visual art, installation, production & set design, and experimental film. Natalie’s background in community art informs her work, based on human relationships and our relationship to food and nature.  She studied Scene Design at California Institute of the Arts (MFA 2022) and lives and works in Los Angeles.

Celebrated by the LA Times for his “luxuriant theatricality,” Daniel Newman-Lessler is a sound artist whose musical practice encompasses: composition, installation, improvisation, conducting, piano and other keyboard instruments, and voice. In addition to concert music, he composes music for dance, film, and theater. Daniel directs CalArts’ Contemporary Vocal Ensemble and plays in the free improvisation trio, (placeHolder). His music has been performed by Tony Arnold, Vicki Ray, Andrew McIntosh, Erika Duke Kirkpatrick, Brightwork Ensemble, Clara Kim, and the Isaura Quartet.

Alexsa Durrans is a choreographer and video artist. She holds a BA from UCLA World Arts and Cultures/Dance and is currently an MFA Candidate at California Institute of the Arts for Choreography with a concentration in Integrated Media. Alexsa has shown work at spaces such as Night Gallery, Pieter Performance Space, Murmurs Gallery, Navel Los Angeles, AALA Gallery, and Arts on Site in New York. She has worked as a Choreographic Research Fellow for Sidra Bell Dance New York. Alexsa works collaboratively and across genres to amplify embodiment and collective experience.

Violet Smith is thankful to be working with the delightful Amy Chiao once again, and is looking forward to her next cup of coffee.

With an eye for the finer things, Zhen Lu is a collaborative designer who emphasizes the importance of the hand-made across various disciplines. She received her BA and BS from UC Davis and has worked as a textile and UX designer. Zhen is currently a MFA Graphic Design candidate at California Institute of the Arts.

Naomi Miyahara is from Southern California and is in her final semester in the master's degree program for technical directing. She joined the theater world in 2013 and is currently working towards becoming an educator in the theater. She finds the new skills that come with each production to be extremely rewarding and takes great pride in creating excellent work. Her previous shows include The Water Station, Uncle Vanya, Caligula, Oedipus, King Lear, & Machinal.

Katherine Paez Froehlich is an LA-based creative producer and production manager. She has previously worked with Universal Creative, Universal Studios Hollywood – Entertainment Production, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and City Theatre to name a few. CalArts School of Theater productions include The Fig & The Wasp (Associate Production Supervisor), Marabella (Associate Production Supervisor), The Romeo & Juliet Experience (Producer) and The School of Theater Virtual Festival 2021 - Beyond the Stage (Assistant Production Manager, XDP Series).
